Thank you for your question. The bra you wear post surgery will depend on your surgeon and the type of Breast surgery you have. I would say you will wait to wear your “sexy bras” until a few weeks after surgery. Some surgeons do not allow underwire bras for six weeks, but I have my patients wear underwire bra’s very quickly (within first week or two). Therefore the bra choice after surgery will depend on the recommendation of your surgeon. Best of luck to you
Post operative garments vary a bit from patient to patient as well as during the healing process. Most patients start in a surgical bra which is like a sports bra with a zipper or clips in the front to easily put the bra on and off. A compression band may be used on the top. Patients will then progress to standard sports bras or camisols with spandex for some compression
Thank you for your question. The type of bra you should wear after breast surgery can depend on the type of surgery you had; standard breast augmentation, a breast lift, a breast reduction, etc. For my patients, I like them in a sports bra for only the first 2-3 days, then they go straight into an underwear bra. Depending on the patient, if they have had a lift I like the bra to be a little padded so that they are lifted a little more during their initial healing period. The appearance of the bra is truly up to you, just have your surgeon okay the type of bra first. Best of luck!
